Role Description: The coach is responsible for...
· Instruction of sport skill/techniques and conditioning
· Teaching long range values of athletic participation
· Implementing all NYSPHSAA, Section I and Conference rules and regulations
· Supervision of practices, games, use of facilities and supplies/equipment
· Conducting practice sessions a minimum of five days per week, excluding game days
· Additional duties deemed necessary by the District Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics and Principal
Qualifications are as follows:
· New York State Teaching Certification (Physical Education Teaching Certification preferred), NYS Full Coaching License, or NYS Temporary Coaching Certification
· Completion or enrolled in required certification courses as per NYS regulations
· Holder of NYS Coaching First Aid Certification or equivalent as approved by NYS regulations
· Holder of NYS Adult Coaching CPR Certification or equivalent as approved by NYS regulations
· Holder of the Heads-Up Concussion in Youth Sports Certification
· Holder of the Child Abuse Workshop Certification
· Holder of the Violence Prevention Workshop Certification |
